  1. But how about if you want to become a doctor or a lawyer, for instance? How can you do that if you don’t attend college?

    • Hey there abyssbrain, do you know that saying “an excellent doctor does not understand only medicine”? We say that often in Portugal.
      On those cases you obviously need a college degree and training (from 3 to 6 years, at least), you need to be “accepted” by society and by the labor market as “a doctor” (we study this on ‘Sociology of Professions’)…but even on those cases it’s what you do after/while getting the degree that defines what you are and what you do professionally, something this article also focus 🙂

      We can discuss this for hours: “what is a doctor?”, or “what is a teacher, what makes a good teacher?”, isn’t a person that teaches and motivates well a teacher, even without a degree?
